Founded in 2004, Lease Corporation International (“LCI”) is a privately owned aircraft lessor. Since its inception LCI has acquired aircraft valued at well in excess of $5 billion and has provided leasing services to national flag carriers and major airlines such as British Airways, Air France, Aerologic, Iberia, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Singapore Airlines and Shanghai Airlines.

The Person

This new position has arisen in the London office due to the ongoing desire to develop, strengthen and support the activities of LCI in light of the continuing expansion and ever-increasing reporting and analysis requirements on the commercial and finance teams. Knowledge of aircraft leasing is an advantage but not essential.

The candidate should have the following essential skills:

  • Minimum two years of experience in aviation or project finance, preferably with exposure to commercial analysis, pricing, and marketing activities;

  • First-rate competence in financial modelling, IRR, NPV, and investment decision criteria;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral;

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple high-priority projects;

  • Highly self-motivated and driven to succeed; and

  • Deep understanding of a variety of cultures; internationally oriented

The Role

Based in LCI’s office in Hobart Place, London, the candidate will report to the VP Commercial in the Structured Finance Team in the London office. Their key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Investment analysis for the company’s aircraft deals and wider strategic projects.

  • Cash flow modelling, investment case analysis and development of business case reviews in support of deal approval and execution.

  • Commercial support to the marketing team with pricing guidance and review of LOIs and lease agreements.

  • Prepare information Memorandums, Green Light Committee and other presentations for internal and external stakeholders;

  • Perform general and specific market research concerning new customer transactions and existing Leases;

  • Analyse fixed wing and helicopter fleet characteristics, creating reports on market trends, lessees’ operations and competitor’s activity by utilising third party databases;

  • Help identify, investigate, and evaluate possible new Clients;

  • Help identify purchase and other acquisition opportunities for senior management consideration;

  • Build business cases to support the marketing efforts (both internal and external);

  • Regular interaction with aircraft Appraisers including ad hoc valuation requests and periodic fleet appraisal

    updates for year-end audit and bank reporting;

  • Provide guidance on industry trends which could affect the business;

  • Analysis of airline and helicopter operator financial performance and risk assessment of aviation investment opportunities;

  • Effectively present airline / helicopter operator credit and macro views to internal and external audiences

  • Drive improvement in internal reporting of risk

  • Participate in active management of airline and helicopter operator credits

  • Ad hoc admin tasks as required

Pay and Conditions

  • Permanent full-time position

  • Salary: market rate plus discretionary bonus

  • 25 days annual leave
