Tasos Michael

Tasos MichaelA lawyer by profession with over 15 years experience in the shipping and aviation industries. Tasos graduated with a law degree in 1983 and following qualification as a solicitor in 1984, he joined the London lawyers Kidd Rapinet working in their corporate and banking departments concentrating on mergers and acquisitions and flotations.

In 1987 he joined Constant & Constant as an Associate in their Asset Finance Department, with primary responsibility to develop their involvement in the shipping sector. He was invited to become Legal Counsel to UK charter airline Ambassador Airways, eventually taking up the position of Head of Legal Services.

In 1993 he was appointed aviation consultant to Kawasaki Leasing charged with the responsibility of disposing of their entire new aircraft portfolio. Subsequently he became involved in the start-up of a number of European airlines, notably easyJet, Aerosweet of the Ukraine and Cronus Airlines (now Aegean Airlines). He then returned to the shipping world, working with the Colbert Group, advisers to the Carnival Group, and Columbia Ship Management.

In 2003 Tasos joined Libra Capital and was responsible for the development of their aircraft leasing venture, now known as Lease Corporation International.
